Laura van der Heijden caused a major stir when she won BBC Young Musician of the Year in 2012 at the age of 15. Since then her career has developed at a rate of knots, including performances with several major orchestras and recently on television at the BAFTA awards. Haydn’s wonderful C major cello concerto is full of brilliance and charm, but with a real depth of sentiment at its heart.
